Finishing out our Ursus Bowie knife series, the Horribilis Bowie (named after the grizzly bear, “Ursus arctos horribilis”) is longer, leaner, and a bit meaner than the rest.
Blade: High Bainite Carbon 1095, Flat ground blade with convex cutting edge for optimal cutting dynamics and edge retention. May be ordered with a full or partial reverse edge. In standard configuration, the reverse edge begins just in front of the hilt and ends about 5 inches from the point, leaving a crowned spine which may serve as an impact area for batoning, or a grip so that the Horribilis may be used as a draw knife.
A skeletonized, double sided hilt makes it easier to fasten the knife to a pole or retain the knife with a lanyard.
Handle: Smooth Canvas Micarta handle for all day cutting comfort.
Sheath: Molle compatible Kydex sheath
